57: the cinema is the gap between each frame

Every film is made of a series of still images, every motion can be broken down into a frozen moment in time.

The design for Third View screening posters try to capture that moment, but with the interesting wrinkle that they're usually films I have not seen beforehand. And so the design work becomes a guesswork of sorts. Speculative poster design.

Just as a series of still images become animated by tricking the eyes into filling in the gaps between frames, the poster designs offer a snapshot of the cinema, only fully brought into motion after people come and witness the film.
